Introduction
Non-EU foreigners can work in Italy and obtain a regular residence permit for this purpose. However, the number of foreigners who may enter Italy for work reasons is not unlimited but it is rigidly fixed in special decrees, the so-called ´flow decrees", issued by the President of the Council of Ministers on the basis of indications provided by the Ministry of Labour. Review of "Life of Pi"
The work done by our group speaks about the film "Life of Pi" which is a 2012 film directed by Ang Lee, based on the novel by Yann Martel. The film was a success and was awarded an Oscar for innovative special effects and the beauty of images. We chose this to talk about immigration in a different way from the usual one, in fact, we are used to thinking that immigration is due only to wars and religious persecutions. Instead, we have analyzed this from our point of view, that is a journey intended as personal growth to face the events that can happen to us. View PowerPoint

“Italy was a breath of fresh air"
There are approximately 68.5 million people around the world who have been forced to leave their homes. To escape violence, war, and persecution. A part of them have crossed a border and sought shelter outside of their own countries. They are referred as refugees. There are nearly 25.4 million refugees, over half of whom are under the age of 18.
Once in a new country, the first legal step for a displaced person is to apply for asylum. They aren’t recognized as a refugee until the application has been accepted. Every host country are responsible for examining all requests for asylum. Refugees are frequently victims of inconsistent and discriminatory treatment. Obliged to rebuild their lives in the face of xenophobia and racism. Read more
